The Neurosurgery is a medical specialty that involves the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the central nervous system (brain, central nerves and spinal cord) and peripheral nerves.

Hydrocephalus, sometimes associated with other congenital CNS diseases, is the most frequent pathology in children. The treatment involves the placement of a shunt, or in some cases a ventriculostomy is performed.
Cranial pathology such as brain injury and brain tumors are the most frequent pathologies requiring multidisciplinary teams.
